Paradise & adventure

  • You can reach beautiful, often wild and hidden beaches – such as Playa Coyote and Playa San Miguel, Playa Ario, Playa Samara or Punta Islita – in around 40 minutes by car. But our favorite beach is definitely Playa San Miguel;-)
  • Barra Honda National Park: caves with spectacular stalactite formations near the finca.
  • You can explore the mangrove swamps of the Gulf of Nicoya on a boat tour. We recommend the Rancho Humo Estancia and the Rio Tempisque Tour.
  • In the Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Ostional reserve, important nesting sites of the olive ridley turtle are protected – the coastal town of Ostional is located in the center of the park and is one of the most important turtle breeding sites in the world..
  • Adventure seekers will also get their money’s worth: the 90 km route from Sámara to Malpaís (partly without road signs) is a special experience in an off-road vehicle. The drive takes you past hidden beaches, small fishing villages and through dense green jungle.
  • The 1172-hectare Reserva Natural Absoluta Cabo Blanco nature park is located at the tip of Nicoya. It is home to the only Pacific wet forest in the southwest of Nicoya. Experienced hikers can explore the charming area with a guide.
  • Nearby you will also find the wonderful Monte Alto conservation project of Tropica Verde e.V. – the association for the protection of tropical habitats, biodiversity and endangered species.
  • History buffs will love the Coretteca archaeological site in Huancas.
  • Horse riding excursions on the finca or in the surrounding area can be organized.
