Finca La Pura Vida

Finca La Pura Vida is located at the foot of Cerro Azul, the highest point of the sun-drenched Nicoya peninsula, and offers a fabulous view of the lowlands and the Gulf of Nicoja with its islands.

50 hectares of land (equivalent to the size of 71 football pitches) with a main house, a beautiful guest house, a pool, an open dining area with barbecue in the middle of a tropical garden invite you to relax and enjoy nature at Finca La Pura Vida. Four Germans have spent years building this gem in order to combine nature conservation and soft tourism. And that’s not all! A 5-hectare, fertile and productive orange plantation is also part of the finca.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica is one of the most extraordinary countries in the world. A trip there remains an unforgettable experience. If you want, you can enjoy the white sandy beaches of the Pacific and the rainforests, experience a rafting tour on a white water river, watch volcanoes and the Caribbean sunset and finally dance merengue or salsa in a discotheque in San José in just one weekend. Costa Rica has a true diversity of vegetation – the wealth of flora and fauna is priceless.

Along the approximately 1,500 km of Costa Rican coastline you will find countless pristine, beautiful beaches, interrupted by impressive, rocky cliffs and accompanied by peninsulas and bays of picturesque beauty.

Blue Zone

A so-called “Blue Zone” is a geographical area in which there is an above-average number of inhabitants with a high life expectancy of ninety or even one hundred years. There are actually only five Blue Zones on our planet – and one of them is the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica. Finca la Pura Vida is right in the middle of it!

Where else could people be better off? Physical and mental health is in the air in Costa Rica, so to speak.

The concept of Blue Zones is based on demographic and statistical work by Gianni Pes and Michael Poulain and became known worldwide through Dan Buettner’s journalistic research with a National Geographic team and the publication of his book “The Blue Zones”.
Fascinating article: Why people in the blue zone grow unusually old.

During one of his recent visits to Costa Rica, Buettner defined Blue Zones as “a concept of lifestyle and environment that supports longevity”.
